Born Joscelyn Eve Stoker, Joss Stone is a multi-platinum English singer with a unique style and unmatched voice. She was quite popular in the early 2000s and dominated the charts with her soulful music, which she says was inspired by American R&B during the 60s and 70s.

She started her music career at age thirteen by auditioning for Star for a Night, a BBC talent show in 2001. Her performance of Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” and Whitney Houston’s 1”It’s Not Right but It’s Okay” got her into the show, which she eventually won by performing Donna Summer’s “On the Radio”.
In September 2003, Joss Stone released her first studio album “The Soul Sessions”. The album consisted of covers from popular 60s and 70s soul songs, as well as a cover of the 2001 The White Stripes song “Fell in Love with a Girl”. The album was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and was nominated for a MOBO Award for Best Album
