The Writers’ Room: An Inside Look At Your Favorite Series

The writers’ room is the place where all the magic and storytelling of your favorite TV shows happens. It is also the place where the creative process unfolds and clashes occur.
In the television talk show The Writers’ Room, we are taken behind the scenes of some of the most popular TV series by screenwriter and actor Jim Rash who sits down with the writing staff of award-winning shows.
So far in the two seasons that were launched, we have some interesting insights about Breaking Bad, Parks and Recreations, Dexter, New Girl, Game of Thrones, American Horror Story, Scandal, The Walking Dead, House of Cards, Sons of Anarchy, The Good Wife and Pretty Little Liars.
Naturally, the first episode that we watched was the fascinating talk Jim Rash had with Game of Thrones’s creators and writers David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. We learned lots of information about how the first season was shot and how the pilot for the show was not at first a success. As it happens, many scenes were re-shot and some actors like Daenerys and Catelyn even re-cast.
Luckily, both creators who were working on their first TV show learned from their mistakes and delivered one of the best and most popular TV series of all time.
Dexter was also an all-time favorite show of ours so it was also interesting going back to what made the show so popular with the audience, especially which it talks about a not so conventional serial killer with a dark passenger.
The writers and producers, in addition to Michael C Hall who plays the lead, talk about how the idea for the show took off, evolved and how it was a good call to end the show after eight seasons.
