A dedicated young man who has spent over two decades training, Fahad Khalid Al Thani is Qatar’s first professional boxer after securing a KO win in Croatia last May.

The match took place last May 7th, when Fahad Khalid Al Thani knocked out his opponent during his first professional boxing match in Croatia.

The 28-year old has had a fascination with boxing ever since he was an eight year old boy. He has told media that his mother telling him stories of Mohamed Ali, and his later appeal towards “Prince” Naseem Hamed and Mike Tyson, both inspired and fueled his love for boxing.

He was scheduled to make a professional debut at London’s O2 Arena, also last May, but cancelled due to a shoulder injury during he received during practice. His doctors said he couldn’t compete until he recovers, which was in about two weeks.

The super lightweight is coached by Frank Bohec, who also trained him for Qatar’s national team.

Before going pro, Al Thani met Ismail Antonio Salla who trained him for three months in Las Vegas, to help him with the transition.

The veteran boxer is still fresh meat, and says that he has a long way to go. Even though he has secured his first professional knockout, and went down in history as Qatar’s first pro boxer, he wants to win titles.
