Al-Sadd Sports Club
If you love a good sport, Al Sadd happens to be the home for Qatar’s best known football team of the same name also known as “Al Zaeem” (“the boss” in Arabic), in addition to handball, basketball, volleyball and table tennis teams.
There, you will find the famous multi-purpose Al-Sadd complex also known as Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium where Al-Sadd team plays, as well as the Qatar national football team. The stadium is known for its distinctive cooling system which is a unique feature in the Middle East.
The shopping destinations
A good residential area would be missing something without its shops and malls. In Al Sadd, there’s the perfectly shaped Al Asmakh Mall also known as Centrepoint Mall where you can find shops like Home Center, Flash, BabyShop and ShoeMart. The place also includes a food court and kids play area.
Another interesting shopping destination is Lulu Centre, a three-level department store catering various items like electronics, household goods, footwear, clothes, stationary, jewelry, suitcases and personal care products.
The area has also some excellent cafés and restaurants, especially when it comes to casual dining. If you want great coffee and baked pastries, make sure you head to French Olive for its fresh and friendly vibe. If you are looking for an Italian diner, there is a lovely little neighborhood Italian joint called Lo Spaghetto. The charming restaurant is famous for its delicious pizza and pasta cooked with fresh genuine flavors and in a family-run Italian atmosphere.
