Nendo: Chocolate That Describes Texture

When it comes to food, we now tackle food in a different manner than we used to, earlier in the day, food presentation did not have the same impact it does today, especially given the applications we use such as yelp, and zomato. Nowadays food has to have impeccable presentation in order for it to appeal to people who use social media.

Chocolate, is one of our favorite things to eat, however we rarely ever come across chocolate presented in a manner which is absolutely brilliant, or in a certain stylized fashion. The Japanese however, and with their forever quest for everything pretty, have come up with something really interesting.

Nendo a Tokyo and Milan based design studio designed a line of Chocolate, for Maison & Objet in France. They designed chocolates that represent different textures each and each chocolate is designed in manner that emits a different taste according to its texture.

“The 9 different types of chocolate are made within the same size, 26x26x26mm, featuring pointed tips, hollow interiors, smooth or rough surface textures,” says Sato. “And while the raw materials are identical, the distinctive textures create different tastes.”

The chocolates are absolutely beautiful, and they are of real aesthetic and culinary value, and this is not the first time Nendo work with chocolate, they have previously designed some gorgeous art supplies which are edible and made out of chocolate.

This is such a creative initiative, and we feel the culinary industry requires some amazing improvement on the level of food aesthetics, because we truly believe food to be an art.chocolate texture nendo 4
