Great news for Qatari comic book fans, nerds and cartoon fanatics, the first annual Saudi Arabia Comic Con has been announced.
For the first time ever, Comic Con will be heading to Jeddah for the first annual Saudi Arabia Comic Con. The SCC is scheduled to take place between February 16 and 18, and is expected to bring in thousands of fans from all over the Arab Gulf and the wider region.
For fans in Qatar, it is about a 14 hour drive from Doha to Jeddah, but there are five daily flights out of Hamad International Airport to Jeddah that take about two and a half hour each.
Arab News reported that the convention will include new and popular ‘comics, anime, manga art, pop art, celebrity appearance, video gaming, competitions, cosplay, books and more’.
You should also expect many to arrive wearing a costume of their favorite character or superhero, so don’t feel embarrassed to do so yourself as well.
The Saudi Arabia Comic Con is being organised by Time Entertainment and has the backing of General Authority for Entertainment, the body which oversees all entertainment events and activities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The SCC is the latest in a proliferation of worldwide Comic Con series.
Tickets will be available starting at SR 100, or about $27 USD, or slightly over QAR 97.
