Carrefour Qatar Opens Unique Concept Store

Mall of Qatar has become home to the Middle East’s first concept hypermarket by Carrefour Qatar.

Carrefour Qatar have introduced a first-of-its-kind concept hypermarket at the newly opened Mall of Qatar. It is also the first lifestyle concept store the brand has opened in the Middle East.

The new gigantic supermarket was built to resemble a local village market, and looks nothing like the Carrefour stores you know. From walk-in to walk-out, the store is designed to give an authentic yet unique feel.

At the opening event attended by several executives and public figures, the country head for Carrefour in Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait, Laurent Hausknecht, said that “Carrefour Qatar has established a strong foothold in Qatar since entering the market 16 years ago. We are excited about the launch of the new hypermarket, which will bring a standout lifestyle concept to the Qatari market while introducing an innovative hypermarket layout at the new Mall of Qatar location.”

She added that the new store “marks a significant development in the evolution of the Carrefour brand in the region, as we have placed a greater emphasis on the working environment, aesthetics and technology that has been used.”

At the moment, there are three Carrefour Qatar hypermarkets in the country, located at Villaggio Mall, Landmark Mall and City Center Doha, as well as three smaller supermarkets at Dar Al Salam Mall, Lagoona Mall and Ezdan Mall.

Earlier this year Carrefour Qatar celebrated their 16th anniversary in the country. Starting the year 2000, the brand has offered local a selection of over 50,000 products and brands at any given time at its outlets.
