Qatar Brings World Corporate Games To Doha

The World Corporate Games 2019 will be held in Doha, Qatar

For the first time in the event’s 30-year-long history, the World Corporate Games will be held in the Middle East.

The World Corporate Games is an international multisport festival for businesses around the world started in 1988, during which corporate teams of all ages, fitness levels and genders, meet up to face-off in different sports.

It was announced yesterday – via a joint conference between Sport for Life, organizers of the event, Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and the Ministry of Culture and Sports – that the World Corporate Games 2019 will be held in Doha.

Teams and individuals from businesses all over the world can sign up to participate in more than 20 sports and events. The Doha edition is expected to bring in more than 8,000 participants, both local and international, making it one of the largest participation sporting events in history of the country.

It will also be the first time the event incorporates eSports and mind sports, alongside more popular sports like football, tennis, bowling, badminton, dragon boat racing and swimming, among many others.

The World Corporate Games is an all-inclusive sporting event, meaning that participation is open to anyone and everyone, regardless of age, gender, skill level or disability. However, several sports have age classes you’ll have to abide to, either 30-39, 40-49 or 50+ years.

Taking place from November 6 to 9 of next year, it will be hosted at eight different venues across Doha: Qatar Foundation, Aspire Zone, Doha Golf Club, Katara Cultural Village, Losail International Circuit, Qatar Bowling Center, Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, and Virtuocity will host the eSports games.

Although the registration deadline is set at October 16, 2019, participants are accepted according to a “first come” policy, so apply early to avoid disappointment.
