Qatar Airways Cargo has launched a relief operation to ship aid to Kerala

Qatar Airways Cargo has announced that they will deliver all urgent aid to Kerala, India, following devastating flooding.

The cargo branch of the national carrier, Qatar Airways, has announced that they have organized a quick relief operation to deliver aid to the flood-stricken districts in India.

“We have received earnest requests from the Indian community residing in Qatar seeking support to transport relief aid to Southern Kerala, where many of their families and relatives are affected by the worst flood in a century,” said Qatar Airways Chief Officer Cargo Guillaume Halleux.

The humanitarian operation seeks to deliver more than 50 tons of “much-needed relief goods” onboard of daily passenger flights. The operation will be ongoing from August 21 to 29 .

“Our prayers and thoughts are with the victims’ families and we hope the region will quickly recover from the disaster,” Halleux added.

As Eid al-Adha is a time dedicated to giving and thinking of others, Qatar Airways Cargo has invited the residents of Qatar to contribute to the relief operation.

Aid in the form of dry food, water, clothing, and medicine as welcome, with each donator being able to send up to 100kg of aid. To donate or more information about the operation, you can contact hotlines via +974 4018 1685 or +974 6690 8226.

Qatar Airways Cargo has a long history of stepping up when the circumstances call, and have been part of numerous humanitarian crises relief operations. The company flies cargo to more than 160 destinations around the world through Doha, with the help of more than 200 passenger and freighter aircraft.
