Did The Simpsons Predict The 2018 World Cup Final?

The Simpsons predict a 2018 World Cup final between Mexico and Portugal

Football fans believe that The Simpsons already knows which two teams will advance to the 2018 World Cup final.

This is not the first time, and it will not be the last, that conspiracy theorists believe that The Simpsons knows the future. The show has already “predicted” many historical events, such as the 2015 Donald Trump’s 2015 US presidential nomination and the death of Stephen Hawking.

This time people believe that the dysfunctional family from Springfield is on to another world event.

Several world cups have been held since the episode “The Cartridge Family” first aired in 1997, but no had made a connection to it before.

In the episode, the residents of Springfield attend a huge football match between Mexico and Portugal, in a game to determine the best team in the world.

Although the episode makes no reference to the year 2018, not to Russia, there is a reason people believe it is relevant today.

A Portuguese newspaper known as Eco has reported that the episode also makes reference to a sex scandal similar to the one the Mexican national team faced recently.

Although both teams still have a good chance to qualify to the Round of 16 stage, it is still to early to tell whether or not they have what it takes to make it to this year’s World Cup final in Moscow on July 15.
