Keeping your original iPhone headphones can actually be the most practical thing you do. Besides answering calls and controlling volume, the 3 buttons have the combined ability to perform more than a dozen different tasks.

Play Music: To resume the last playlist you were listening to, simply press the center button once. To pause the music, press it once again.

Skip Songs: To skip a song press the center button twice in a row.

Replay Music: Press the center button three times to either start the song you’re listening to from the beginning, or go back to the previous song.

Fast-Forward Music: To skip a part of music, press the center button twice and hold it until you reach the part you want to listen to.

Rewind: To go back in a song, press the center button three times and hold until you reach the part you want to listen to.

Answer Calls: When you have an incoming call, press the center button once to pick up. You also close calls by clicking the center button once.

Ignore Calls: To ignore a call and redirect it, press and hold the center button.

Answer Second Call: To answer a second call and put your first one on hold, also just press the center button once.

Switch Calls: When you’re on more than one call, you can switch through them by pressing the center button once.

Ending One Call Only: To end one call and keep the other on, press and hold the center button.

Ignore Second Call: To ignore a second call while you’re on a first call, press and hold the center button.

Activate Siri: You can activate Siri by pressing and holding the center button.

Take Photos: You can take photos without actually holding the phone with either of the volume buttons.
