Sky Climbers earn Qatar new Guinness World Record

It was a double celebration at the Sky Climbers’ graduation ceremony on Monday as Qatar set a new Guinness World Record.

A selfie taken during the graduation ceremony of the second batch of Sky Climbers youth earned Qatar a new entry in the Guinness World Records book for 2018 – the longest selfie stick.

Taken at the graduation ceremony at the Qatar National Convention Center, the selfie stick measured 18 meters in length, breaking the previous record of 16 meters.

The attempt was attributed to Abdullah Al Ghafri, whose initiative snatched the title from ITP Live, Dubai, who set the previous record in April, earlier this year.

The record was marked by the below photo, which will go down in the history books alongside plenty of records attributed to Qatar.
