Ooredoo has announced one of the world’s fastest broadband bundles, but it is also one of the world’s most expensive.

Pioneering in the world of telecommunications as usual, the Qatari service provider Ooredoo just launched a 10 Gbps Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) broadband bundle for those who can afford it.

The service has been up and running since February 25, after it complete trials successfully last December. For now, it is available to select customers in Doha alone, but will be more widely available later on this year.

Considering that the bundle comes with speeds 10 times faster than the usual broadband packages in Qatar, it is priced at QR 7,500, around $2,000, a month, and includes Ooredoo’s TV services as well.

The announcement was made at the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress, where Ooredoo has installed an impressive pavilion with their latest technologies and innovations.

They also said that their infrastructure upgrades will be supporting the upcoming 5G mobile standards, as well as 8K television technology.

The provider also became on of the first countries in the world to introduce 4.5G Pro technology, which they did in cooperation with Nokia at the MWC.

These new launches will exponentially speed up data transfer in some of the country’s busiest areas, mainly businesses. Prior to the announcements, the fastest speed Ooredoo offered was 325 Mbps over their 4G+ networks.
