India Offers To Train Qatar Police Ahead Of World Cup

Qatar police will be trained by India to be ready for the FIFA World Cup 2022.

The Qatar Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Thani had met with Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi on Saturday, where India offered its assistance to the Qatar police in preparations for the FIFA world Cup in 2022.

The New Delhi source also mentioned that the Prime Minister, who is also Minister of Interior, invited Mr. Singh to Qatar to strengthen the bilateral ties between the two as Qatar prepares to host the football world cup in a few years.

The source also said that the Qatari Prime Minister suggested that a delegation from the Interior Ministry pays a visit to study the different angles of the security cooperation between the two.

As the Qatar side agreed to send a delegation of officers for information exchange, Mr. Sing assured him that it will be done at the earliest date possible.

It was also agreed that the Defense Minister of Qatar will visit India soon to discuss the two countries defense cooperation. The Qatari side even expressed desire to extend the cooperation between the two into defense equipment as well.

In the events, India thanked Qatar for their amnesty program that facilitated the return of Indian in Qatar who violated their visas.

Other than defense and security, the two also discussed possible and ongoing cooperation in education and food production.

The talks included the possibility of opening Indian community schools in Qatar, and Indian food companies opening up around Qatar.
