Apple released the long awaited iOS 10, their newest iPhone and iPad operating system last week, and people don’t know how to feel about it. Some of the interfaces features are quite practical and useful, while others are just annoying, and some have been around for a while, just not in the iPhone.

Within the first 24 hours of the software’s release, 15% of global Apple users had already upgraded their devices. However, many of us don’t actually take the time to discover new features, and just keep to the changes made within the apps we regularly use. Therefore, we took the time to do your research for you, and introduce you to some of best, worst and already existing features in iOS 10.

Digital Magnifying Glass

Well, we never thought we’d ever need one, but now that it exists we sure do. It is maybe one of the least though of features that could ever be incorporated to your phone.

You can use the Magnifier feature through your regular iPhone camera. The feature will help you zoom in on small texts and distant objects for a better look. To enable this feature, navigate through Settings > General > Accessibility > Magnifier. Once enabled, you can use the app by clicking your home button three times in a row, and keep in mind that your camera’s zoom is a lot more powerful with the magnifier feature enabled.

Siri’s Photo Services

Siri just got more useful with iOS 10, and can now help you retrieve photos without you having to scroll through your endless library. Call up Siri and ask her for photos from a certain date, location or time frame and she’ll filter them out for you.

This feature also works with videos, and even some more specific photos. For example, you can ask Siri for photos of dogs and she’ll take care of the rest.

Easily Find Related Photos

Apple’s Photo app has gone through a transformation, and become more user friendly. One of the most exciting new features is the related photos reel that appears whenever you dig up a picture.

Working also with videos, this feature will display a list of related videos and photos directly underneath the video or photo you’re looking at.

User Friendly Photo Search

The way we find and locate photos has changed forever. iOS 10 comes with a facial and environment recognition, which helps you search for photos of yourself or friends faster, as well as photos of things or places.

This is one of the features that Android users have had for years. Matter of fact, Google’s photo app is also available on App Store and could have been used by iPhone users for as long as it has been existent.

Unlock With A Touch

Maybe one of the more useless features, but might be quite useful for the ultra lazy iPhone users, the touch to unlock your phone option.

If you are too lazy to the physical effort to press you home button to unlock your phone, you can easily enable the Rest Finger option through the phone’s Accessibility Settings. That way, you only have to touch or rest your finger on the home button, instead of actually pressing it.

Sleep Help

The new operating system includes a new feature to help you go to bed, as well as waking rising up from bed.

The new bedtime alarm doesn’t only wake you up when you need to be up, but will also remind you to go to bed to make sure you get enough hours of sleep. It will also analyze to make sure you actually go to sleep on time.

The feature is within the Clock app, and comes with new wake up tunes. This way, you won’t be scared awake by an annoying fire truck sound.

Delete System Apps

And finally, you can now delete some System apps and make room for more space on your phone for photography and social media apps, games and more.
