The highly anticipated Mall of Qatar is nearing its final opening date after delaying once more.
People all over the world have been eagerly waiting for the opening of Qatar’s largest mall, properly named the Mall of Qatar. It is currently receiving the final touches to meet its approaching opening. Located in the midst of Al Rayyan, it will be adjacent to Al Rayyan Stadium, one of the venues that will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It is also close to Education City and the Qatar National Convention Center, with a dedicated station on the Doha Metro.
The mega-mall rescheduled its initial opening from September 2015, to early in 2016, and now hopefully to October 31, 2016.
Spreading over 5.4 million square feet, or the size of 50 football fields, the Mall of Qatar will be home to over 500 stores, and over 100 restaurants and eateries. Revolutionizing the average mall experience, Mall of Qatar will include a 360 degree multi-lift rotating festival stage with theatrical sound and lighting, and animated water features to entertain everyone in every corner of the mall.
A mall this big is a city itself, and therefore can not not include a luxury hotel. The five star hotel within the mall will be a Curio, part of Hilton’s collection of unique hotels.
In addition to 16,500 square meters of entertainment for the young and old, the mall will be home to a 19-screen cinema complex with the latest 4D projection technology screens, 7 VIP screens on 3 levels, and the world’s largest IMAX Laser 3D projection system.
