It’s big, green leafs are very rich in antioxidants, which makes it an anti-cancer food. It contains beta-carotene, vitamin C, and several flavonoids and polyphenols. Two very essential flavonoids found in Kale are quercetin and kaempferol. And a cup of it has more Vitamin C than a whole orange, and all the Vitamin K fights blood clotting.

Kale contains bile acid sequestrants, which can bind bile acids in the digestive system and prevent them from being reabsorbed, which in terms lowers cholesterol levels. In other ways, it is a great way to keep a healthy heart.

Other than the cancer fighting sulforaphane which has shown proof to fight cancer on a molecular level, it also contains Lutein and Zeaxanthin which help protect your eyes.

And most importantly, it helps you lose weight because it is rich in nutrients, but very low on calories.
