Masakatsu Sashie’s Micro Invasion Hits Doha

An art installation by Japanese artist Masakatsu Sashie, named Micro Invasion will be visiting Doha this month.

MICRO INVASION, the exhibition by renowned Japanese artist Masakatsu Sashie will be on display at the Pearl in Doha.

The exhibition is a the Sashie’s imagined post-apocalyptic earth, after over-consumption and over-industrialization has left the planet in ruins.

Showcased at The Pearl’s Anima Gallery, the collection powerful paintings of floating massive orbs illustrates an post-apocalyptic world,with large sphere, somewhat like the Death Star, hovering over a devastated and destroyed planet,where all that remains is industrial and technological waste.

The exhibition is the work of 42-year-old Japanese artist Makatsu Sashie, whose artwork is largely inspired by his appreciation of manmade objects.

The exhibit has traveled the world and been on display all around Asia, and some states in the US, including New York and California. Sashie emerged in 1999, has been had 12 solo exhibitions and eight group shows.

The showcase is open for the Qatari public at the Pearl’s Anima Gallery and will run until August 9, from Sunday through Thursday, from 10 am to 7 pm. (During Ramadan the gallery is only open until 3 pm)
