Simple Gourmet Recipes

For all of you who want to impress friends over for dinner, score points on a date or just want a quality homemade meal, here are 3 simple gourmet meal recipes.

1- Garlic Butter Shrimp: Place your shrimps on a baking sheet and sprinkle some olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic (or garlic powder). Roast the shrimps for 6-8 minutes, until they become pink and cooked. Add butter directly to the hot sheet and stir until it melts, don’t let it stick. Decorate the shrimps with some parsley and serve alongside pasta or baguette.

 

 

 

Moroccan Grilled Chicken Breasts

2- Grilled Moroccan Chicken: Beat chicken breasts into ½ inch, even fillets. Mix olive oil, spices, salt, garlic and sugar in a bowl. Place both the mixture and your chicken in a freezer friendly plastic bag, squeeze out the air and let it freeze for 6 hours. When you want to cook them, just throw on top of a pre-heated grill and make sure it is hot. Grill for a few minutes and serve with mashed potatoes or rice.

 

 

 

Steaks in Mushroom Gravy

3- Herb-Coated Steaks with Mushroom Gravy: Mix salt, chopped fresh thyme, chopped fresh rosemary, freshly ground black pepper and some minced garlic cloves. Coat your steaks with cooking oil; and rub in the thyme mixture. Place the steaks on a broiler rack or roasting pan coated with cooking oil and bake at high temperature for about 8 minutes on each side.

Gravy: Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Mix 1/2 teaspoon of thyme, mushrooms, and 4 garlic cloves and until mushrooms are tender. Add chicken broth and white vinegar, or cooking wine, bring to a boil for about 4 minutes. Whisk water and cornstarch into a small bowl, add to the mushroom and bring to a boil, until slightly thick. Serve with steaks.
