French fashion house Chanel, with the genius Karl Lagerfeld as its creative director have taken Chanel to Cuba for their 2017 Chanel Cruise Collection. The event was truly unique, where guests were treated to some real Cuban culture.
The event was fashion and culture packed, Chanel took the guests to visit the home of Earnest Hemmingway, as well as to an exhibition for Karl Lagerfeld’s photographs. Tilda Swinton, and our favorite ever Chanel model Gisele Bundchen attended the show.
The guests were chauffeured into the venue in gorgeous vintage colorful convertibles, where the show happened at Paseo De Prado. What was truly remarkable was the inspiration the designer drew from Cuba while designing for this show.
Some items included prints of beautiful vintage Cuban cars, as well as a lovely Viva Coco Libre t-shirt. The most remarkable thing however was the show’s finale, where a parade of models and musicians danced, and sang in celebration of this remarkable event, and line.
Lagerfeld does not cease to impress us with state of the art shows each and every season, inspiring by Cuba’s cultural richness.
