So the most happening night in fashion ended a few hours ago. The annual Met Gala had one of its most exciting themes so far. This year the theme was titled ManusxMachina and it held the meaning of fashion in the age of technology.
This year’s influence was technology, and hence the themes tackled during this year’s ball were how the fashion industry today utilizes the handmade and the machine made to create avant-garde couture. The title ManusXMachina signifies man made or made by hand for Manus, and Machina naturally exemplifies the machine made.
This year’s event featured some truly amazing dresses. Some people took their fashion to a whole new level. However one of the major highlight’s of the evening was the Vogue’s ManusxMachina Experience which was an element which completed the entire concept, it was an actual instagram machine.
To be honest some of our favorite ever looks were that of Poppy Delvigne, who wore a custom Machesa gown and it was a statement, sophisticated, powerful, and absolutely beautiful. Anna Wintour stepped out in a gorgeous Chanel number creamy white with beautiful detail, and fringe. Lady Gaga was ironically dressed as a mother board! Karlie Kloss completely shined in white Brandon Maxwell. While Bella Hadid stepped out in one of the more beautiful Givenchy gowns.
This year’s edition of the Met Gala was absolutely terrific, the theme was compelling to us all, and it is a crucial influential mater for the fashion industry.
