Qatar Tennis Federation Organized Qatar Total Tennis Open For Women 2016

On the 21st and up until the 27th of February, The Qatar Tennis Federation will be hosting the Qatar Total Open, at The International Tennis and Squash Complex. This event will hold the best female tennis players from all over the world, competing for a prize of $2,818,000.

Tournament director for QTO Saad Al Mohannadi, and managing director of Total E&P Guillaume Chalmin, inaugurated this event, with Guillaume expressing his delight and happiness to be supporting the tournament ever since its very first edition which happened fifteen years ago.

The event will also feature a public arena for the public, where several activities await. Serena Williams was confirmed attending this event, when she fell ill with the flu, and hence withdrew her participation in this tournament.

However it will feature some brilliant names in the game, from Maria Sharapova, to Lucie Safarova, to Petra Kvitova, and Angelique Kerber, these women are the elite in the sport, and they will all be competing for the title. In last year’s edition Lucie Safarova won the singles, while Raquele Kops-Jones, and Abigail Spears.
