Breakfast In Amsterdam: Some Must Visits

According to some recent statistics, 25% of people skip breakfast, at least once per week, the world record for the biggest number of people having breakfast in bed was in Australia, where 289 people had breakfast in bed, with a total of eighty five beds! So that was the record!

The Journal of Circulation once published a Harvard School of Public Health research delving into the health factors that affect 26,902 males, what they found out through this research was truly surprising. Apparently the risk of a heart attack or disease are directly related to whether or not one if having breakfast; people skipping breakfast had a 27% increased risk over individuals who did eat breakfast. Breakfast directly affects the metabolism, since individuals who do not eat breakfast have higher risks of metabolic problems, and night eating, which is really one of the most horrible things.

Whole grains, proteins, as well as fruits and vegetables are probably the best choices for a balanced healthy breakfast.

Now, during our trip to Amsterdam we tried breakfast at a variety of places, in this article we will break it down onto our three favorite places, and what to try there.

Bake My Day

Bake My Day

Bake My Day:

Bake My Day is a little cornered bakery located discreetly in one of Amsterdam’s most crowdie streets. The bakery is located very close to Rembrandt Square, near the Amstel.  I am a huge fan of soup in general, and I am also avidly in love with soup for breakfast, and especially in the winter time. There isn’t anything better to keep you warm on a cold windy morning. It has all the nutrients you need from vegetables, combine it with a piece of break, some cheese, and a glass of juice, and you truly have yourself the best thing you could ever eat! This bakery made an amazing spiced pumpkin soup which was really balanced in terms of sweetness, and creaminess, the soup really made my day and I would really recommend it to anyone!

Coffee Bru

Coffee Bru:

This little coffee house is located near Oosterpark, on a calm street in Amsterdam. This place serves some seriously delicious sandwiches, freshly made around the hour, as well as some amazing cornbread, along with freshly brewed coffee. It is absolutely awesome! This place is a local favorite; if you feel like having a croissant for breakfast though, make sure to arrive early, as the supply never equals the demand for these mouthwatering croissants!

Bar Bukowski

Bar Bukowski

Bar Bukowski:

This place was really at the top of my list for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! I truly enjoyed every single visit paid to Bar Bukowski, and plus it was located near our street, and also very close to Oosterpark Breakfast at Bar Bukowski should definitely include an asparagus omelet; it is one of the best breakfast items on the menu. Really a must try!
