The grand opening will take place on March 27, 2019, in a huge ceremony under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, the Qatar Museums’ website reads.

Designed by the world renowned architect Jean Nouvel, the National Museum of Qatar is an expansion of the old national museum, which was built back in 1975.
