Bird Box: Not A Christmas Movie

Sandra Bullock and Sarah Paulson star in Bird Box - Netflix

Just in time for Christmas, Netflix are premiering post-apocalyptic thriller Bird Box, staring Sandra Bullock.

Bird Box is not a movie for the faint-hearted, it is your worst nightmares coming to life. Directed by Susanne Bier, the film is based on Josh Malerman’s 2014 novel of the same name.

When the world as we know starts collapsing around soon-to-be mother Malorie Shannon, she becomes determined to protect her children no matter what.

After her sisters commits suicide under the same mysterious circumstances as most of Earth’s population, she learns that an evil that takes the shape of a person’s worst nightmare is lurking.

To escape their worst nightmare, Malorie and her two unnamed children have to make an escape through a forest and down a river blindfolded.

Bird Box stars Sandra Bullock as Malorie Shannon, and Vivien Lyra Blair and Julian Edwards as her unnamed children, as well as Sarah Paulson as her sister. The movie also includes stars such as John Malkovich, Trevante Rhodes, Jacki Weaver, Rosa Salazar, Danielle Macdonald, Lil Rel Howery, Tom Hollander and BD Wong.

The movie had its world premier at the AFI Fest in November, and had a limited release over the weekend, before premiering officially on Netflix on December 21.
