Foods That Can Improve Eyesight

While contact lenses and glasses help your vision, certain foods can give you better eyesight

Poor vision can be fixed with glasses and contact lenses, but also with special foods and nutrients.

While millions around the world wear glasses or lenses to improve their vision, most people who don’t still suffer from some form of poor eyesight.

As of 2015, nearly one billion people globally have some degree of visual impairment. While glasses and contact lenses are very effective, many people either don’t like wearing them, or are unaware of their existing condition.

Even if you don’t think that you need to wear visual aids, your eyesight might not be 100%. Now don’t freak out, because you can easily fix it with a healthy diet.

The first thing you need to do is have more vitamins, more specifically, Vitamins A, C and E. These can be found in vegetables and fruits such as carrots, red peppers, strawberries, citrus fruits, sweet potato, spinach and broccoli.

Together with foods containing zinc (red meat, poultry, seafood, beans, nuts, etc.), antioxidants inside these foods can help prevent macular degeneration, a condition with causes deterioration to the part of the eye that controls central vision.

Other foods that are recommended for better eyesight are those rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon, flaxseed, walnuts and soybeans.

However, if you find yourself having a hard time seeing things throughout the day or suffer from eye pains, visit your eye doctor as soon as possible.
