The first ever Street Food Festival in Qatar is being held this November, and here’s what you need to know.
Food lover get ready, for in two weeks you’ll have the chance to stuff your faces full with the yummiest foods available in the country. For the first time ever, Qatar will be hosting a street food festival, aimed to promote smaller, lesser known restaurants and eateries.
It is an open event and anyone can attend to get a bite of the tasty foods on display.

The festival will kick-off on November 14, and will remain open until November 24, at the Sheraton Hotel Park.
As the name implies, the street food festival will be a space where food stands, carts and smaller eateries can set up shop and deliver their best foods and drinks to attendees.
A 2007 FAO study claims that 2.5 billion people around the world eat street food every day.
Street food is popular around the world because it is cheaper, faster to get your hands on, and overall more convenient. Some of the most loved foods in the Arab world are street foods, like the shawarma.

Organizers have said that there will be many stands offering local cuisine, alongside Asian, American, European and Mediterranean cuisines, among many others. Some stands will also be occupied by amateur cooks offering home cooked delicacies.
