Everything You Need To Know About Instagram Nametag

The new Instagram Nametag is a QR code that your friends can scan to follow you

In hopes of making it easier for people to connect and follow each other, Instagram rolled out a new feature – Nametag.

We all know how the story goes; you meet someone new, you decide to keep in touch, you exchange Instagram profile names, and then you spend several minutes trying to find the right profile. Well Instagram just made things a whole lot easier with one new feature – the Nametag.

The concept is pretty easy, and it is convenient and quick for both parties. Each profile now has a Nametag, which you can show on your phone and once someone else scans it, they get directed to your profile.

You can even customize your own tag with different colors, designs and stickers.

The function isn’t new. Several social media network already use similar features to allow users to add/follow each other. Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat and Messenger users have been able to generate scannable QR codes for a while now.

Your personalized can be accessed from your profile. Just tap the menu button on the top right section and select Nametag. Once your tag is on display, your friends can swipe right from the home screen (to access the camera) and focus on the tag.

Instagram Nametag launched globally today, both for Android and iOS users.
