They took down two of Colombia’s biggest cartels, now it’s time to clean up Mexico, in Narcos season 4.

After having taken out the Medellín and Cali Cartels, the DEA heads to Mexico to take on the Guadalajara Cartel. Narcos: Mexico follows the events that led to the modern American war on drugs.

The new season stars Michael Peña as undercover DEA agent Kiki Camarena and Diego Luna as Félix Gallardo, the leader of the Guadalajara Cartel. The show also features prominent drug Mexican drug lords like El Chapo, El Azul and Don Neto.

Following the development of the Mexican drug trade since the 1980s, the show portrays historical events that led to the war on drugs as we know it today.

“Narcos: Mexico will explore the origins of the modern drug war by going back to its roots,” according to the series’ official synopsis.

Earlier this year, a location scout for the show was shot dead near San Bartolo Actopan, one of Mexico’s most dangerous cities.

Narcos: Mexico (also known as season 4) will premiere on Netflix globally on November 16.
