Trevor Belmont is back to defend Wallachia from the evils of Dracula and his minions in Castlevania season 2.
Based on the 1989 Japanese Konami video game Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, Netflix’s Castlevania is back for a second season and it is even darker than the first.
Given that it has been a year since the first season premiered, let us take you back to where we left off:
Vampire leader Count Vlad Dracula has declared war on the humans of Wallachia after they burned his wife at the stake over false witchcraft accusations. With his monsters and demons ransacking the town, it is up to disgraced monster hunter Trevor Belmont to fight Dracula and his dark army. But to succeed, he will need the help of magician Sypha Belnades and Dracula’s dhampir son Alucard.

One would expect an anime based on a video game to be corny and predictable, but Castlevania is actually one of our favorite anime series on Netflix.
The show is smart, well-written, and is funny enough to make all that dark violence tolerable. The story mixes religion, with science, fables and myths, making a perfect show for anyone who has any interests.
