Reese Witherspoon will be returning as Elle Woods seventeen years later in yet another Legally Blonde sequel.
Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon announced that she will be reprising her role as Elle Woods in yet another Legally Blonde movie.
“It’s true… #LegallyBlonde3,” the actress announced through Twitter, alongside a video of her floating in a pink bikini – a partial remake of an iconic scene in the first movie.

The 3rd movie was also confirmed by MGM, who announced that it will be released on Valentine’s Day 2020.

The announcement comes 17 years after the first movie was released (2001) and 15 years after the sequel Legally Blonde 2: Red White & Blonde.
Legally Blonde 3 will most likely be written by Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Karen McCullah, who wrote the original movie which is based on the Amanda Brown novel of the same name.

The movie tells the story Elle Woods, a California sorority president who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School to get a law degree against all odds.
The original movie made $141 millions worldwide, while the second made $124 millions at the box office.
