Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in a Royal Wedding

The world stood and watched in awe on Saturday, as Prince Harry of the UK married the American actress Meghan Markle.

While crowds filled the streets of England, the rest of the world sat in silence in front of the screens as the the former American Actress Meghan Markle walked down the aisle alone to be wed to Prince Harry of the United Kingdom.

With little to no makeup on, Meghan Markle, walked down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in a “double-bonded silk cady cushioned by an underskirt in triple silk organza” wedding dress designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller at Givenchy.

Her silk veil was 4.9 meters long, and was embroidered with 53 flowers to represent the countries of the Commonwealth – over which her husband is prince. It was held by diamond bandeau tiara that was made in 1932 for Queen Mary, and lent to Markle by the Queen of England herself.

All together the wedding costed an approximate $40 million USD, with around 600 hundred guests made up of close family and friends of the couple attending the ceremony and reception at St George’s Hall. also, 200 close friends were invited to attend the evening reception at Frogmore House, and 1,200 members of the public to greet the couple outside the chapel.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle first announced their engagement on November 27, 2018, through Clarence House and Kensington Palace. The news came almost a year after the couple had confirmed sharing a relationship.

Meghan Markle had already been in the public eye as the steamy legal aid on the popular Netflix series Suits. She has however said that she will retire from acting after the wedding.
