Netflix Banks in on The Irishman

The Irishman will star Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel and Al Pacino, Ray Romano, and Scorsese will direct

They’ve got Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel and Al Pacino, Ray Romano, and Scorsese to direct The Irishman.

It is final! As soon as Paramount pulled out from the project, Netflix made their move and secured the rights to The Irishman, with an all-star cast and Academy Award winning director.

The deal costed them $105 million, but every cent is worth it since people are already excited, calling it the greatest movie ever. It’s a quick judgment given that little is known about the movie. But with that cast and director, why wouldn’t it be?

The movie is a biographical film about Frank Sheeran, a US labor union leader and alleged hitman for the Bufalino crime family, who admitted to killing famous labor union leader Jimmy Hoffa in 1975.

James Riddle Hoffa was the President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters union in USA from 1958 until 1971. He suddenly disappeared in July 1975, leaving no trails of his whereabouts. It is widely believed that he was murdered by the mafia.

The movie will star Robert De Niro as Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran and Al Pacino as Jimmy Hoffa, alongside Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel and Ray Romano.

The movie will premiere on Netflix sometime in 2019.
