$14 Billion Deals Signed Between Qatar and France

Qatar and France signed multi-billion dollar deals

Qatar and France have signed commercial contracts worth of 12 billion Euros during President Macron’s Doha visit.

In the presence of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and the French President Emmanuel Macron, Qatar and France signed trade deals worth of as much as $14.15 billion dollars.

The deal includes an order of 12 Rafale fighter jets from the French Dassault Aviation, as well as employing France’s Suez to dredge and clean Qatar’s lagoon, Al Jazeera reported.

At the same time, Qatar Airways announced that they will be purchasing 50 Airbus A321 passenger planes, for $6.4 billion, with the option to buy 36 more in the future.

France was also awarded a contract to operate and maintain the under-construction Doha Metro worth $3.5 billion.

Paris also said that Qatar had sent a letter of intent to buy 490 VBCI armoured vehicles from the government-owned weapons manufacturer Nexter, in a potential deal worth an additional $1.5 billion.
