The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy has unveiled the design of the Ras Abu Aboud Stadium, the 7th 2022 FIFA World Cup venue.

Scheduled for completion in 2020, the Ras Abu Aboud Stadium has an innovative design, so bold nothing alike has ever been seen during the a FIFA World Cup.

Using shipping containers like building block, they stack up to create the most revolutionary sports stadium ever witnessed.

The futuristic stadium was designed by the architects at Fenwick Iribarren Architects (FI-A), a Spanish firm that has brought some of the world’s impressive sports stadiums to life. Some of their former designs include the Casablanca Football Stadium in Morocco, Norway’s new National Stadium and the iconic 2022 FIFA World Cup venue of Qatar Foundation Stadium.

The Ras Abu Aboud Stadium will offer an exclusive first-class sports experience, but a lot more.

Since it is built using containers like Legos, it can be easily be deconstructed and re-erected at any other location.

It also means that construction work will require less materials, thus leaving behind less waste and reduce the carbon footprint of the building efforts.

The sustainable approach that will be followed throughout construction has earned the 40,000-seat stadium a four-star Global Sustainability Assessment System certification.
