It’s never too early to plan your next vacation. We have five travel destinations you can go ahead and add to your bucket list.
When it comes to travel, there’s no such thing as enough. If you suffer as badly from wanderlust as I do, you’d want to keep these bucket list destination in mind.
Sea of Stars, Maldives
At night, the shores of Vaadhoo Island light up as if a million stars are floating in the waters. Even though we have bioluminescent bacteria to thank for this phenomena, they are completely harmless, so feel free to take a swim.
Lençóis Maranhenses, Brazil
The coasts between the Parnaíba and Preguicas Rivers looks like a desert, even though it isn’t. Yet, this desert-like beach is beautiful to explore. First, it isn’t really far from the water, and second, there aren’t any scary desert animals around. Just think of it as a never ending beach.
Abraham Lake, Canada
Many places have beautiful lakes, and many of them freeze over the winter. But what makes Canada’s Abraham Lake special are the bubble formations visible under the thick ice. The bubbles are in fact methane gas trapped in the ice, so remember not to light a cigarette anywhere near of it.
San Augustin Archaeological Park, Colombia
If you’re feeling like an Indian Jones-type adventure, San Augustin’s is the perfect travel destination for you. The park is full of ancient statues and hieroglyphs, like those in the picture. Caved sometime before 50 AD, no one really knows who made these statues or anything about their culture.
Deer Cave, Malaysia
Named after a deer that locals saw going into lick the salty rocks inside, the cave is massive and beautiful. It might seem like nothing different from any other salt-formation cave, but this one has many waterfalls, salt statues, and rainforests growing inside.
