A Century after Vincent Van Gogh painted his famous Olive Trees, experts have found a little hidden tenant in the paint.
Expert Mary Schafer at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri, have found a small grasshopper embedded in the thick paint of Vincent Van Gogh’s Olive Trees.
The famous Dutch painter created the art piece 128 years ago, and it was only recently noticed under magnification.
It is believed that the grasshopper might have fallen into his color tray, or directly onto the canvas, since he liked to paint in the outdoors.
The insect is missing its abdomen and thorax, and can barely be seen under the like-colored paint.
