Comedian Adel Karam is set to record a comedy special for Netflix, their first original production in the Middle East.
The Lebanese comedian and talk show host Adel Karam will join the long list of comedy legends with Netflix specials. No only that, but he will also be part of the first Netflix Original produced in the Middle East.
For decades now, Adel Karam has been painting smiles and laughs on faces of the people Lebanon and the Arab world through his witty characters and brilliant jokes, now it is time for him to spread that joy across the globe.
The yet-to-be-named comedy special will be produced by Creative Arab Talent, and is expected to premier in 2018, to all Netflix members around the world.
“I am very happy and excited to be a part of Netflix’s first original production to be produced in Middle East. It is a great honor and privilege and I can’t wait to embark on this new adventure,” he said.
The special will be recorded in front of a live audience at the historic Casino du Liban, during which Adel will approach issues Arabs face everyday with his unique touch of sarcasm and irony.

Vice President of International Originals at Netflix Erik Barmack said that “Adel Karam is a very strong voice in comedy. Karam is currently promoting his latest cinematic project alongside acclaimed Lebanese director Ziad Doueiri, The Insult, which premiered at the main competition section of the 74th Venice International Film Festival and is the Lebanese entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards.
