Ghassan Massoud Lands Role in Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World

Award winning director Ridley Scott has picked favorite actor Ghassan Massoud for role in his upcoming movie, All the money in the World.

When it comes to actors from the Arab world, very few have achieved the level of fame and popularity Syrian Ghassan Massoud has. Having started acting on the theater stages of Damascus, he is today known for his brilliant roles in Arab, Turkish and Hollywood productions, and beyond.

It was the British Academy Award winning director Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, The Martian) that first introduced the world to Ghassan Massoud through his 2005 film Kingdom of Heaven.

With an exhilarating performance as the Muslim ruler Saladin, Ghassan Massoud gained recognition in Hollywood as a world class actor. Today, Massoud is appearing in Scott’s newest production, All the Money in the World.

Based on John Pearson’s novel “Painfully Rich: The Outrageous Fortunes and Misfortunes of the Heirs of J. Paul Getty”, All the Money in the World follows the biographical account of the 1973 kidnapping of John Paul Getty III.

When an Italian mob kidnaps John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer), his loving mother Gail (Michelle Williams) struggles to convince his wealthy grandfather, oil tycoon J. Paul Getty (Kevin Spacey) to pay the ransom. After a series of failed attempts, Gail resorts to Getty’s business manager and former CIA operative Fletcher Chase (Mark Wahlberg) to help her set her son free.

Ghassan Massoud is also known in Hollywood for his role as Ramesses II’s Grand Vizier, Paser, in Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014), as well as his role as Pirate Lord Captain Ammand in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007).

In other parts of the world, Massoud is known for his roles as Sheikh Abdurrahman Halis Karkuki in the Turkish action movie Valley of the Wolves: Iraq (2006) and the first Muslim Caliph Abu Bakr in MBC’s Omar.

All the Money in the World will premiere on November 16, 2017, at the AFI Fest, before its limited release on December 8, 2017.
