Archaeologists Seek Out Hidden Chamber Inside Great Pyramid of Giza

Archaeologists are using high-tech sensors and scanners in the search for a hidden chamber deep within the Great Pyramid of Giza. As it seems, the pyramids of Egypt will never seize to amaze us. Whenever we believe that we know everything there is to know about the magnificent mega-structures, we discover something new that just baffles us. Today, archaeologists believe that a void within the Great Pyramid of Giza could be a hidden chamber. In October last year, scientists were able to confirm the existence of an empty space 105 meters above the ground, somewhere behind the north-eastern edge of the 4,500 year-old pyramid. Now they are trying to pinpoint the exact location of the mystery room by analyzing data using cutting-edge non-invasive technology, including infrared thermography, 3D reconstruction and muography. Also known as the Pyramid of Khufu, after the king it is believed to have been build for, it stands 146.5 meters-tall and was the tallest man-made structure in the world for more than 3,800 years.
