Qatar has announced that passport holders from 80 countries can now travel to the country visa-free.
People from 80 countries can now travel and enjoy a visa-free stay in Qatar at any time, authorities announced on Wednesday.
Upon arrival in Qatar, passport holders from these 80 countries will be allowed entry without a prior application or fee. They will simply be issued a multiple entry waiver free of charge at their port of entry, as long as they present a passport that is valid for six months and a confirmed return ticket.
There are two classes entry waivers, one allowing its holder to spend a total of 90 days in Qatar, while the other grants them a 30-day stay with the possibility to apply for an additional stay of 30 days. Both visas however allow multiple entries.
“With 80 nationalities eligible for a free visa waiver upon arrival, Qatar is now the most open country in the region,” said Acting Chairman of the Qatar Tourism Authority Hassan Al Ibrahim.
Nationals from the following 33 countries can obtain a visa waiver valid for 180 days from the date of issuance, and entitles its holder to spend 90 days in the country, continuously or during separate trips.
Nationals from the following 47 countries can obtain a visa waiver valid for 30 days from the date of issuance, and entitles its holder to spend 30 days in the country, continuously or during separate trips. It also comes with a 30-day renewal option.
To apply for a Qatar Tourist Visa, visitors are required to:
• complete an online form
• upload required documents (including passport scans & personal photographs)
• provide airline booking information*
• make an online payment using a valid Visa or Mastercard
Once the application is complete, visitors will be contacted via e-mail within two days s with a response.
