Two New Harry Potter Books To Be Released This Year

A collection of Harry Potter books

Fans have all the reasons to be excited for the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone this October.

It was 20 years ago that the epic saga of a boy wizard studying at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry enchanted the world with its magic, and to celebrate, Bloomsbury publishing will be releasing two new Harry Potter books.

Attendees of the Harry Potter exhibition – an exhibition set up to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publication of the first HP book – at the British Library in October will be the first to get their hands on the first of the two books.

Although not a tale of the hero himself, Harry Potter: A History of Magic will go into the details of the subject Harry studied at Hogwarts.

The second book, Harry Potter: A Journey Through a History of Magic, is a comprehensive encyclopedia which will give us a look into the history of magic, “from alchemy to unicorns, ancient witchcraft to Hogwarts.”

Harry Potter is a series of fantasy novels written by the British author J. K. Rowling, and follows the life of a young wizard and his friends as they receiving schooling on witchcraft and wizardry at Hogwarts.

The original series of seven books was later on developed into a blockbuster movie franchise of eight parts. All eight movies became instant classics and have die-hard fans all over the world.

The first of five prequel spin-offs, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, premiered on November 18, 2016. It is based on the 2001 Fantastic Beasts series written by Rowling, which also take place in the world of magic.
