Various media reports are claiming that Qatar will produce a movie about Sudan starring Angelina Jolie and Leo Di Caprio.
Pan-African news website AllAfrica has reported that Hollywood star and UN ambassador Angelina Jolie has started shooting a movie depicting the ancient Nubian civilization of Sudan.
Despite not being back by much, the report also states that the movie entitled “History Has Started From Here” is being financed by Qatar.
The movie is reported to be financed by the Qatari Mursal network, and is said to be translated into several languages and broadcast by the Al-Jazeera TV Channel.
Even though none of this has been confirmed by either side yet, there’s one thing we know for sure, Qatar is helping Sudan restore their pyramids and other archaeological sites and turn them into touristic attractions.
Overall, Sudan has over 225 pyramids dating back to Nubian rule some 2600 BC.
In March, Princess Sheikha Moza bint Nasser visited the historic City of Meroe and was given a tour of the sites that are being restored by the Qatar-Sudan Archaeological Project (QSAP).
