Netflix has brought together all your favorite Marvel characters as The Defenders, and the first trailer looks amazing.
This summer, the Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and the Iron Fist are all coming together to form The Defenders, the anti-hero ensemble everyone just loves.
Netflix just dropped the first trailer for the miniseries, which is scheduled to air in August, and it’s off the hook. There’s four times the action, four times the weird non-hero-superhero, and four times the what-the-hell-are-they-doing?
The miniseries follows the four previous Netflix Marvel shows, where the main character of each show team up to form a superhero “team”. If you happened to watcher either of the shows – Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist – you’ll know that they are each dysfunctional on their own, so just imagine the damage they are capable off together.
The main characters are returning to their roles, as well as Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), Jerri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss), Misty Knight (Simone Missick), and other recurring characters from the previous shows.
We still don’t know much about the plot, except that it is set a few months after the events of the second season of Daredevil, and a month after the events of Iron Fist, and that The Defenders will be fighting The Hand.
The show stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Danny Rand / Iron Fist, and will first air on August 18.
Before watching The Defenders, make sure to watch the previous shows in the following order to keep a consistent development of events.
1. Daredevil season one
2. Jessica Jones season one
3. Daredevil season two
4. Luke Cage season one
5. Iron Fist season one
6. The Defenders
7. Oh wait, there’s a seventh spot on the list reserved for The Punisher which will be released later this year.
