Anyone Can Be An Artist With Google’s AutoDraw

AutoDraw, Google’s newest platform, uses artificial intelligence to make your scribbles recognizable drawings.

We have all had that moment in our lives where we thought to ourselves “I wish I could draw”. Well, now you can with AutoDraw.

On Tuesday, April 11, Google released the web-based tool, which will turn your sloppy scribbles and doodles into actual drawings.

With the help of artificial intelligence, AutoDraw tries to recognize what you are trying to draw and will give you a set of professionally drawn images you can choose from to replace your sketch. And you don’t even have to be near accurate.

The tool uses the same technology Google made for Quick Draw, a web game they released in late-2016 that “challenges players to draw a picture of an object or idea and then uses a neural network artificial intelligence to guess what the drawings represent.”

AutoDraw is free and easy to use, and can be accessed through www.AutoDraw.com from any computer, tablet and smartphone.

At the moment, the AI system can recognize thousands of drawings, but Google is working on adding more over time. They even encourage people who are actually good at drawing to use the submission page and upload their own designs so that other users can benefit from them.
