NASA Will Reveal ‘Ocean Worlds’

The American National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will be holding a major press conference on ‘ocean worlds’ in our solar system.

Whenever NASA announces a big conference, the world sits silently and listens. Just a few months ago the American space agency revealed TRAPPIST-1, a nearby solar system with seven Earth-like planets, and a few week earlier that there’s water on Mars, what revelations do they have in store for us this time?

The major press conference will focus on ocean worlds in our solar system, they said. The mysterious event will reportedly also include exclusive information on the “broader search for life beyond Earth”.

It is not the first time NASA hosts such events surrounded by secrecy. In February they announced a similarly mysterious press conference. During the live event they announced the discovery of TRAPPIST-1, a near solar system that has seven Earth-size planets orbiting around it. Three of the server are within what is called the habitable-zone.

A few month before that they revealed that Mars, a planet that we for centuries though to be dead, to have liquid water.

However, according to NASA’s own announcement, the new findings are from our own solar system, and come from data collected from the Cassini craft.

The Cassini mission was launched back in 1997 to collect information on Saturn, but has also explored dwarf planets that may contain life.

The conference will be livestreamed on Thursday, April 13, at 9:00 PM Doha time. Many of the world’s leading experts on the search for alien life, members of the Cassini mission and astrobiologists will be part of the event.
