You Could Soon Upload Knowledge Directly To Your Brain

Like something out of a sci-fi movie, you might soon be able to feed your brain knowledge by upload according to scientists.

A group of scientists claim to have developed a simulator that could be connected to a person’s brain and upload loads of information in a short period of time. This simulator they claim, can be used to teach humans new skills and amounts of knowledge without any effort.

Researchers at California’s HRL Laboratories believe they are on the path to making instant learning a reality.

They used electric signals harvested from the brain of trained pilot and the implanted them to an novice aviation students while they learned to fly a plane in a flight simulator.

According to the study published in the journal Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, those who had received the skilled pilot’s brain signals through an electrode-embedded hat learned piloting maneuvers up to 33 percent better than groups who were put under placebo hats.

Dr. Matthew Phillips, part of the research team, explained that they focused on the skill of flying an airplane because it required a synergy of both cognitive and motor performance.

He went on to explain that when you learn something new, your brain physically changes and connection are made and strengthened in a process called neuro-plasticity, The Telegraph reports.

Just imagine the possibilities if this method passed trials and is perfected. Humans could save countless years and hours spent on practice and education, and will be able to learn new skills in minutes.

Once available to the public, wishing to have a certain skill will be a thing of the past. Feel like being able to do something? Just link up and upload.
