Qatar Bags 21 Medals At GCC Women's Games

The Qatari ladies team return home with 21 medals from the 5th GCC Women’s Games over the weekend, proving Qatari skills in various sports.

The Qatari athletics team was able to snatch a total of 21 medals at this year’s run of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Women’s Games.

Among them were 4 gold medals, 10 silver, and 7 bronze, putting the Qatari team in third place, overall.

The number one spot went to the United Arab Emirates, which’s team went home with a total 12 medals, significantly less than Qatar, but include 7 gold ones, one silver and 4 bronze.

The Bahraini team ranked second by bagging a total of 14 medals back home with them. The Bahraini athletes won 6 gold medals, 6 silver and 2 bronze.

It was an exciting last day at the games yesterday, according to QNA, which reported that the day saw “dramatic and strong competition between the athletes who made great efforts to win the largest number of medals in order to improve their teams’ positions”.
