Doha Metro Will Be Connected By Ooredoo’s Supernet

Ooredoo and Qatar Rail signed have signed an agreement that will put Ooredoo’s supernet in Doha Metro Red Line

Ooredoo and Qatar Railways signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the sidelines of QITCOM last week that will see Ooredoo implement its next-generation In-Building Solution (IBS) across all Red Line networks of the under-development Doha Metro.

Under the terms of the agreement, Ooredoo will be working closely with both Qatar Rail and their system contractors throughout planning, design and installation of the projects, all the way until the actually commissioning of the Ooredoo IBS service.

The telecom giant will be installing the network infrastructure needed to provide voice and data service on board Doha Metro Red Line throughout the next phases of the construction.

These networks will be providing traveller onboard Doha Metro Red Line fares to stay connected over Ooredoo’s Supernet.

The Doha Metro Red Line will be over 40 kilometer long once completed, and will be travelling across a total of 17 stations. One of the stations will Legtaifiya Station, which will allow passengers to transfer over to the Lusail Light Rail Transit. It will also connect to the Musheireb station, which will serve as transit point and main intersection for the Red, Green, Gold and Blue Lines.

The MOU was signed at a special signing ceremony at the the fourth edition of Qatar’s information and communication technology exhibition and conference, QITCOM 2017, with both parties reaffirming their commitment and alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
