Rotana To Build Hotels In Qatar Ahead Of 2022 World Cup

Rotana have revealed plans of expanding their presence in Qatar with two additional luxury hotels.

Rotana, a major hotel management chain with over a hundred properties the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and Eastern Europe region has announced plans to of expanding their operations in Qatar.

The plans were revealed by the company’s Chief Operating Officer Guy Hutchinson, who said that they will be opening two new high-end hotels in Doha, one by 2018 and the other by the end of 2019.

The first hotel will be the Downtown Arjaan, followed by their first property in Qatar under their brand Rayhaan Hotels & Resorts, the Plaza Rayhaan, Doha.

The two properties will entail an investment of $250 million, and will add 765 rooms to Rotana’s already existing 1,510 rooms in Qatar, just in time for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Qatar has been trying to find ways to accommodate the possibly hundreds of thousands of people who will be flying in for the international football championships in 2022.

The hotel management giants already operates four hotels in Qatar, the five-star hotels City Centre Rotana and Oryx Rotana, as well as Centro Capital Doha and Sedra Residences by Rotana.
